    Promethazine (Item No. 22450) is an analytical reference material categorized as a phenothiazine.1 Promethazine has been associated with misuse in conjunction with opioids or sedatives.1,2 Formulations containing promethazine have been used in the treatment of various allergy-related conditions, anesthesia- or surgery-related nausea and vomiting, and to induce sedation.
