Imperatorin is a furanocoumarin that has been found in A. dahurica and has diverse biological activities.1,2,3,4,5 It scavenges DPPH (Item No. 14805) and ABTS (Item No. 27317) radicals (EC50s = 19.48 and 10.93 μM, respectively).1 Imperatorin (10 nM) reduces NETosis induced by phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA; Item No. 10008014) in DMSO-differentiated HL-60 neutrophil-like cells.2 It decreases the cytopathic effect induced by herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) in Vero cells when used at concentrations of 15.62 and 31.25 µg/ml.3 Imperatorin decreases myeloid cell leukemia-1 (Mcl-1) protein levels and increases mitochondrial membrane depolarization and apoptosis in doxorubicin-resistant HepG2 (R-HepG2) cells, an effect that can be reversed by overexpression of Mcl-1.4 It inhibits LPS-induced increases in p38 MAPK, JNK, and IκBα phosphorylation, TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β protein levels, and nuclear localization of NF-κB p65 in RAW 264.7 macrophages.5 Imperatorin (50 mg/kg) reduces tumor growth in an R-HepG2 liver cancer mouse xenograft model.4
