ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY TOOLS & SERVICESAverantin is an anthraquinone fungal metabolite that has been found in Aspergillus.1,2 It is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of aflatoxin B1 (Item No. 11293).1 Averantin is active against B. subtilis bacteria and the plant pathogenic fungus F. solani in vitro (MICs = 16-32 μg/ml).2
